In the first quarter of 2025, producer prices of services were virtually stable over a quarter (-0.1% after -0.6%). Prices of services sold to households were virtually stable (-0.1% after -1.5%) and those sold to home businesses were stable (after +0.2%). Prices for services sold on foreign markets continued to fall but less sharply (-1.1% after -2.2%).

Over a year, overall producer prices of services slowed down in the first quarter of 2025, (+1.6% after +2.4% in the fourth quarter of 2024).

In the first quarter of 2025, producer prices of services sold to home businesses were stable over a quarter (after +0.2% in the fourth quarter of 2024) and slowed down over a year (+1.6% after +2.1% in the fourth quarter).

In the first quarter of 2025, prices of information and communication services fell back over a quarter (-0.8% after +0.9%), due to the seasonal fall of television programming and broadcasting services prices (-18.4% after +14.4%) offset by the rise in other software publishing services prices (+1.7% after -0.3%). Over a year, prices of information and communication services slowed down slightly (+1.1% after +1.3% in the fourth quarter of 2024).

In the first quarter of 2025, prices of accommodation and food services continued to fall over a quarter (-2.0% after +3.5%), mainly because of the sharp drop in prices of hotels and similar accommodation services (-7.6% after -10.3% in the fourth quarter 2024). Over a year, prices of accommodation and food services accelerated sharply (+0.8% after +0.5% in fourth quarter of 2024).

In the first quarter of 2025, prices of real estate activities accelerated over a quarter (+1.3% after +0.4%), driven by renting and operating services of own or leased real estate (+1.6% after +0.4%). Over a year, they decelerated (+3.8% after +4.4% in the fourth quarter of 2024).

In the first quarter of 2025, prices of transportation and storage services rebounded slowly over a quarter (+0.2% after -1.1%). Over a year, prices for real estate activities continued to slow down (+1.0% after +2.1% in the fourth quarter of 2024 and +2.3% in the third quarter of 2024).

In the fourth quarter of 2024, prices of professional, scientific and technical services decelerated over a quarter (+0.2% after +0.5% in the fourth quarter of 2024), as a result of the slowdown in prices of accounting, bookkeeping and auditing services, tax consulting services (+0.8% after 1.2%). Over a year, prices of professional, scientific and technical services also slowed down in the first quarter of 2025 (+1.4% after +1.9% in the fourth quarter of 2024).

In the first quarter of 2025, prices of administrative and support services slowed down (+0.2% after +0.4%), due in particular to the slowdown in prices of general cleaning services of buildings (+0.7% after +1.0%). Over a year, prices of administrative and support services also decelerated (+1.4% after +2.3% in the fourth quarter of 2024).

In the first quarter of 2025, producer prices of services sold to households in France were virtually stable (-0.1% after +1.5%). Prices of professional, scientific and technical services were virtually stable (-0.1% after +0.9%), driven by prices of legal activities. Prices of accommodation and food services were almost unchanged (+0.1% after -2.5%).

Prices of transportation and storage services decreased again (-2.1% after -3.2%), as well as prices of administrative and support services (-0.8% after -0.9%).

Prices of information and communication services rebounded slightly (+0.2% after -2.8%). Finally, prices of real estate services accelerated (+0.9% after +0.4%).

Producer prices of services sold to households in France continued to rise over a year in the first quarter of 2025 (+1.7% after +2.1%).

In the first quarter of 2025, producer prices of exported services fell again (-1.1% after +2.2%), mainly due to the fall in prices of transportation and storage services (-3.6% after -6.8%) linked to the sharp decrease in prices of sea and coastal freight water transport services (-7.1% after -12.4%). Prices of information and communication services fell back slightly (-0.2% after +1.6%). Prices of professional, scientific and technical services accelerated (+0.7% after +0.2%) and those of administrative and support services slowed down (+0.7% after +1.1% in the fourth quarter of 2024).

Over a year, producer prices for exported services decelerated sharply in the first quarter of 2025 (+1.8% after +5.2% in the fourth quarter of 2024).

The quarterly variation in the producer price index for services sold on all markets between the third quarter 2024 and the fourth quarter 2024 has been revised downwards by 0.1 points: it stands at -0.6%.
